2013 AAU Junior Olympic Games – Detroit, Michigan

Baton Twirling Award Winner - The AAU Baton Twirling committee is pleased to announce that the 2013 Joel Ferrell Award winner for Baton Twirling is Jessica McHale! 

This prestigious award was presented on Friday, August 2nd during the 2013 AAU Junior Olympic Games in Detroit, Michigan at the conclusion of competition by Candice Dowdy – AAU Baton Twirling National Chair and Ashley Bishop the 2012 Joel Ferrell Award Winner. 


Jessica is a 17 year old and is from Royal Palm Beach, Florida and studies under Solid Gold Twirling.  She could be seen competing with her team, during the showcase, clinics and at the Celebration of Athletes which was hosted at Eastern Michigan University.

 

During the 2013 AAU Junior Olympic Games in Detroit, Michigan she displayed excellent sportsmanship and continued to show her support/love for Baton even after being injured by showing up for all days of competition.  She is very passionate about the AAU and the sport of baton twirling.
